ANTI RAGGING COMMITTEE

                

Ragging in any form is prohibited and any incidence of indulging in ragging will be reported to the police. Ragging is a non-bailable offence. Ragging may also attract punishment as per section 4 of the “The Kerala Prohibition of Raggig Act 1998” which leads to imprisonment, for a term of maximum 2 years and a fine for ten thousand rupees in conviction. As per the instructions from University of Calicut and Govt of Kerala, the College has an antiragging committee constituting of Teachers, Parents and students. The committee monitors the meanance of ragging in this institution. 

Ragging of any type or dimension is banned on College campus. Anti ragging Committee has been constituted to make the campus ragging free. An anti ragging squad with faculty from various disciplines is also functioning in the institution. Following the ruling of the Supreme Court of India, UGC has introduced regulations to curb the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions in the year 2009. Affidavit by students and parents

Each student and his/her parents/ guardian shall have to furnish an affidavit along with the application form to the effect that they will not participate in or abet the act of ragging and that, if found guilty, shall be liable for punishment under the penal law of India.

As per UGC vide its letter no.F.1-16//2007 (CPC-II) dated June 17, 2009, punishment for participation in/or Abatement of Ragging:

• Cancellation of admission.

•  Suspension from attending classes.

•  Withholding/withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits.

•  Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process.

•  Withholding results.

•  Debarring from representing the institution in any national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.

•  Suspension/expulsion from the hostel.

•  Rustication from the institution for periods varying from 1 to 4 semesters or equivalent period.

•  Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a specified period.
